Gifts are for Giving

The gift that you are with
your smile and words,
your hands and heart,
how you cook or clean,
create or organize,
how you lead and follow,
bless and pray
is meant to be given, not hidden.

God has given you gifts.
Lots of them.

Some you recognize as talent,
others are revealed in character, some you find such joy in that you can’t bare to share them and some are close to your heart that you are afraid to reveal them. Some gifts are so mundane and normal to you, that you don’t even recognize them as gifts.

But gifts are made for giving. The more precious they are to you, the more powerful they are for others and some of your most “normal” gifts, in the hands of God, can become someone else’s answer to prayer.

Gifts are made for giving: to serve, to love, to mend, to tend, to bless, to build.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. (1 Peter 4:10 NIV)

When you use what God has given you to serve others, God’s amazing grace is revealed in all it’s multi- faceted ways.

People see God’s love for them through the gifts he has given you to share.

What has God given you?

How are you going to give it away today?
