There have been many times that I’ve asked God to take away something from me. Something I don’t want to deal with anymore. Many times God’s answer to me is “I won’t take it away, but I will give you what you need to deal with it”.
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
(2 Corinthians 12:8, 9 NIV)
We don’t like to be weak.
In fact, we often spend a whole lot of energy pretending to be strong when all God is asking us to do is admit we are not.
Admit that we can’t do it on our own.
Admit that we need help.
God’s grace doesn’t make your life perfect and wipe away all the hard things like a magic wand. It gives you access to God and he gives you what you need to live the life you have.
What do you need today?
Whatever it is, by the grace of God, you can take as much as you need.
