Alongside with the great challenges and trials in life come the questions of God’s love.
Does God love me?
This is an age old question asked by every man or woman who has walked a rocky road and fought the fierce fight.
Paul the apostle, bravely asks a question we are afraid to voice in those moments when we are most overwhelmed:
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
(Romans 8:35, 37 NLT)
Don’t look to your circumstances for assurance of God’s love, look to the Cross.
Nothing could stop Jesus from going through it so that nothing can separate you from God.
“I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love.
Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love”. (Romans 8:38 NLT)
