It was a desperate prayer murmured from hurting lips, “Jesus, help me”.
It was a tear-filled prayer sobbed from a broken heart, “Jesus, help me”.
It was a violent prayer ripped from the angry soul unable to hold back the venom of hatred pouring out, “Jesus, help me.”
It was a silent prayer offered with no hope of an answer, “Jesus, help me”.
“I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.” (Psalms 34:4 NLT)
God answers every prayer.
Not always in the way we want Him to.
Not always in the way we expect Him to.
Not always as fast as we think He should,
but He always answers.
His answers are framed in a cross,
steeped in the sacrifice of His beloved son,
saturated in His grace.
When I pray, I know God answers.
Not because I demand it, claim it or even need it.
He answers because He is sovereign,
because He is good,
because He chose to be in relationship with you.
If you are worth the sacrifice of His Son, why do you doubt that you are worth an answer?
You are loved.
Pray, however you must.
Let go of control and trust Him.
