Motivation

“The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Do it without motivation, just do it. Exercise, lose weight, whatever. And then guess what? After you start doing the thing, that is when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep doing it.”
John Maxwell

You actually won’t find much in the Word about motivation. It is motivating, but it doesn’t tote the benefits of motivation itself. Waiting until we feel like doing something to do it- nope, can’t find that principle anywhere.

Patient persistence pierces through indifference;”
(Proverbs 25:15 MSG)

I’m not talking about working for your salvation. Your relationship with God thrives in and on faith. I am talking about pushing through feeling, or the absence of it, until you breakthrough. I am talking about walking in victory. Encouragement and motivation will get your started. Commitment – a dogged determination to keep going no matter what– will get you the breakthrough you have been praying for.

The Prayer:
Maybe it is time to change your prayers. If your prayers are focused on yourself and your own inadequacies- stop praying!! Yes, that is what I said- STOP! You need to get the focus back where it belongs- on God and his omnipotent power.

“Prayer without faith quickly degenerates into an aimless routine or heartless hypocrisy. However, prayer with faith brings the omnipotence of God to the support of our petitions. It is better not to pray unitl your entire being responds to, and understands, the power of prayer. When genuine prayer is even whispered earth and heaven, and the past and future, say “Amen!” This is the kind of prayer Christ prayed.”
– P.C.M. From Streams in the Desert</em>, June 26

The Wall:
Each of us has a familiar wall we hit. Most of the time we hit the wall, bounce off, look at it and walk away. We get motivated to do whatever is needed to scale, demolish or explode the wall… until we hit it, bounce off, look at it and walk away. Until the next time we get motivated to try again.

I’m telling you not to wait. Keep going whether you feel like it or not. Pray until the power of God rises up within you and you can not hold in the shout of faith and the WALL WILL FALL.

“and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.”
(Joshua 6:20 NKJV)

Don’t wait for the motivation, my friend.
Keep going and pray faith-filled prayers.
Take the city- God as already given it to you.

I want you to know how much I appreciate every text, message, mention and comment!!! Thank you- I am praying with faith for your breakthrough today!
