Sometimes you just need a hug. You need to lean on someone and allow the warmth of their presence to wrap itself around you. There is something vital that is communicated in a good, strong, healthy embrace: value, strength, security and a sense that all is right in the relationship. Yes, sometimes you just need that kind of hug.

Roman’s 8:39 says, “high or low, thinkable or unthinkable-absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” (MSG)

How has He embraced us?

Without hindrance.

In full knowledge of our condition.

In full expression of God’s grace.

This is what Jesus did for you on the cross.

This is what Jesus did the moment you accepted His love.

This is what He continues to do every day.

Embraced by the arms of grace.

Kept safe in the arms of the Savior.

Held within His grasp.

No matter what is happening around you, you have a place to rest in Jesus.

Corrie Ten Boom wrote, “Look around – be distressed. Look inside – be depressed. Look to Jesus – be at rest.”

My friend, the same arms that were stretched out on the cross will embrace you today in a Presence-laden secure warm hug.

Lean in and stay awhile.
