A Heavy Heart

Do you have a heavy heart today? Is it filled with worry for your loved ones who are hurting or struggling? Are you wondering what to do about it?  The Apostle Peter wrote these instructions on how to deal with a heavy heart in your relationships in 1 Peter 5-7,  “In every relationship, each of you must wrap around yourself the apron of a humble servant. Because: God resists you when you are proud but multiplies grace and favor when you are humble. If you bow low in God’s awesome presence, he will eventually exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands.  Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” TPT

How to deal with a heavy heart:

  1. Lay down your right to be right and get your heart ready to serve them.
  2. Receive God’s great grace and favor.
  3. Bow low in God’s awesome presence.
  4. Leave the timing in His hands.
  5. Leave your worries and stress at His feet and leave them there.

When you have a heavy heart about the situations of those you love and care for, remind yourself that God cares about them more than you do, knows what to do more than you do and has a better plan than you do for them.  Get in God’s awesome presence and lay them down. Lay down your pride, fear, control issues and preferred outcomes. Trust God, He cares for them and He cares for you…tenderly.

“So here’s what I’ve learned through it all: Leave all your cares and anxieties at the feet of the Lord, and measureless grace will strengthen you.”  Psalms 55:22 TPT

Amen.
