Proclaim Forgiveness

After Jesus breathed new life into the disciples, He gave them their mission directive: “I send you to preach the forgiveness of sins—and people’s sins will be forgiven. But if you don’t proclaim the forgiveness of their sins, they will remain guilty.” (John 20:23 TPT)

It was as simple as it was powerful. With Jesus’ very life in them, His Spirit working through them they offered forgiveness from God through Jesus’ work on the cross. We call it good news and it is good news that everyone needs to hear.

Of course, not everyone will believe it or receive it. Not everyone will think it’s news they need. But there will be some. Some who are longing to live forgiven. To be free of guilt, shame and condemnation. There are some who are dying to know there is love for them to live in and that Jesus paid the price so that they would live the prize – eternal life now and life eternal after death.

Jesus gives you and I the same mission directive today: receive the very Breath of God, the Breath of Life, the Holy Spirit and with Him within you communicate the forgiveness of sins through Jesus. It doesn’t matter who they are, where they are from or what they have done. Jesus died for them. Jesus defeated sin and death. Jesus offers them full pardon from God. If they accept. And for those who don’t? They stay where they are and as they are. However, you can be assured that God will not stop pursuing them with His love because that is who He is.

Who needs this message in your life today?
When are you going to tell them?
