The Mouth Speaks

The words coming out of your mouth (or the ones that fill your mind but you don’t dare speak out loud) are evidence of what is going on in your heart.  Your mouth speaks what is in your heart.

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:31-32, “Lay aside bitter words, temper tantrums, revenge, profanity, and insults. But instead be kind and affectionate toward one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love.” (TPT)

Forgiveness is powerful and important to the health of our life. We must receive it and give it on a regular basis. However, before you can give forgiveness you have to deal with the source of bitterness and anger over what happened in your heart.

Have you lashed out in anger lately?

Is your mind obsessed with the one who hurt you?

The one who hurt you can not heal you.

Stop looking for them to.

Jesus can and will heal the wounds you carry.

Bring your heart, your fear and your hurt before Him and ask Him to cleanse it with His loving kindness. Ask Him to release you from what happened and restore you to wholeness. He can and will.

Process what is in your heart before God and let it go.

Then forgive them in faith with the power of Jesus.

You don’t have to trust someone to forgive them.

They don’t have to know you forgive them.

They don’t have to be sorry in order for you to forgive them.

Forgiveness is not about restoring trust in them, it is about trusting God with them.

Forgiveness is about freedom – yours.

And you can’t do it without God’s power.

Deal with it in your heart and it will impact what comes out of your mouth.
