Christmas is a thousand stories of revelation, joy, courage and hope when the truth of who Jesus is, is revealed to the soul.
One of the first ones was recorded right after Jesus was born. When Mary and Joseph took Jesus to the Temple to dedicate Him to the Lord, they encountered an old man named Simeon who had been earnestly looking out for the Messiah to come and promised by the Holy Spirit that his eyes would behold Him. Scripture says that, “He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, “Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace, as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people.” Luke 2:28-31, TPT
When Simeon took the babe Jesus into his arms, he was gazing tenderly on the promise of salvation given thousands of years before to his people.
As he held the babe, he gazed into the power of the universe in human form, knowing that it was not just a gift for his people but for all people.
Jesus was given for the salvation of all nations and all nationalities.
He is embodied love, uncontainable light and the majestic glory of God Himself sent from heaven to live vulnerable, speak truth, challenge lies and free the soul from the bondage of sin forever.
Whether people realize it or not – Christ has not been taken out of Christmas, it is His heart that beats through it all, for all, until all know His eternal love.
May you have your very own story of revelation, joy and courage this Christmas as well as a moment of being captured in awe by God’s great gift to you through Jesus’ birth.
