“They will spend their days in prosperity, and their descendants will inherit the land.”
Psalms 25:13 NIV
Hope is a powerful and important thing. In times of fear and confusion, it is vital. I remember when the boys were little and we had just moved from Las Vegas to California for a new ministry position. As we began to settle in, the reality of the cost of living there crashed down on our heads and I couldn’t see how we would be able to make it. It seemed impossible. As I laid it before God, I heard these words whispered to my heart, “Believe all the way through.” Although I couldn’t see how we were going to make it, God was asking me to keeping trusting Him. He brought us to this place and He would provide for us there.
A verse like this is hope and promise. It is a reminder that although your days are difficult now, a day of prosperity is coming. The Hebrew word used here means more than just financial prosperity or security. It is the word, “tove” and we see it first spoken in Genesis 1:3 by God as He spoke light into the chaos of darkness and said it was “tove.” The word means deep goodness, beautiful, better, bountiful, pleasant, precious, and prosperous in all parts of life.
My friend, in the middle of the stress and the mess of your current situation this verse proclaims hope. Hope that God can provide a way where there seems to be no way and that He will continue to provide for you. He will continue to provide for you. He will provide the strength, perseverance and grace you need to make it through. Prosperity and favor will be yours and your faith will impact generations after you.
Hold on.
Trust God.
Believe all the way through.
“Then prosperity and favor will be their portion, and their descendants will inherit the earth.”
