“For the sake of your name, Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great.”
Psalms 25:11 NIV
David asks for the unthinkable: total acquittal. Bold reprieve. Utter absolution. David is being unjustly accused by his enemies and comes before God acknowledging that just because he is innocent of what they accuse him of doesn’t mean he is perfect or blameless. Yes, he has messed up and needs forgiveness. So he asks for a clean slate.
Do we dare to live forgiven?
My friend, the most powerful moment of your life is the moment you realize that you can ask for forgiveness of all your sin because Jesus took it all on Himself. When you realize that you can ask for absolution not because you deserve it but because Jesus decided it, paid for it and offers it to you.
My friend, I dare you today to boldly ask God to fully forgive you and for the honor of His name, live loved and live burden free.
“For the honor of your name, Yahweh, never count my many sins, and forgive them all— lift their burden off of my life!”
