Blessed Because

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” 

Matthew 5:3 NIV

Jesus said that you are blessed:

When you know you have nothing to offer God to exchange for blessings.

When you feel powerless, weak and humbled.

When you can’t fake it until you make it anymore and realize that with God, you don’t have to.

That is when Jesus said you are blessed.

Why? 

Because when you know you have nothing, you are ready to receive God’s everything.

Because when you are out of options, you turn to God for direction.

Because when you know you can’t do it on your own, you live to depend solely on God.

Life with Jesus isn’t about how much you have or how much you don’t.

It is about coming to Him with empty hands and letting Him fill your life with His love, His mercy, His strength, His power and His grace.

My prayer for you, dear friend, is that you let go of trying to be strong enough and embrace the unbelievable power available to those who know they have nothing without God.
