Refiners Fire

“In the same way that gold and silver are refined by fire, the Lord purifies your heart by the tests and trials of life.”  Proverbs 17:3 TPT

There is nothing like a challenge to discover what resides in your heart.

Facing a difficulty, being on the receiving side of opposition or having someone lie about you is like a key that unlocks whatever old fears or mindsets that still exist inside of you.

Proverbs 17:3 is an “ancient wise saying” that reminds us that God is the Great Refiner. He will use the very trial you are facing to bring to the surface of your heart what doesn’t belong there, what isn’t serving you, what you don’t need.

Gold is refined when its very substance is heated to the point that it melts and the impurity within rises to the top. Then it is skimmed off and reheated until the metal is purified.

Life is full of trials and things that will test you.

Life throws curve balls and unfair circumstances your way.

Put yourself in God’s hands and allow Him to refine you and clear out what you don’t need.

What test or trial is firing up fear and discouragement in your heart today?

What is it bringing to the surface?

  1. During the trials, I’m guilty of questioning God, but then I’m reminded by His word that he is forever faithful and never leaves. This message was needed today to remind myself that we all face these trials and God will use them for good. I’m facing something major right now and God is showing me right now how to face it, he’s bringing the very things I’ve prayed for to help me with, up to the surface. He’s guiding me by reminding me to have Grace and Faith in Him to do His work through me.
