“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” James 4:8 NIV
My friend, you do not ever have to “fake it until you make it” with God.
On the way to the Temple, Jesus came to a fig tree full of leaves so He expected it to also be full of figs. When He checked it, the tree had no fruit which it should have.
In Mark 11:14, Jesus spoke to the fig tree: “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” (NIV)
Jesus is not a fan of false advertising.
The next morning, His disciple saw that the fig tree had withered to its roots and was utterly dead.
The world says fake it until you make it but God is not okay with that.
God doesn’t want you to pretend with Him that everything is okay when it is not.
He would rather that you would be honest with where you are and how you feel.
God meets you where you are, not where you wish you were.
Be honest with where you are and ask God to meet you there.
He will.
