This is what I know about you:
Your life is different than you thought it would be.
It’s harder than you expected.
It’s messy.
Your life is filled with broken people, challenging circumstances, and difficult decisions.
This is what I know about God: He isn’t running from your mess, He meets you in the middle of it.
He does not ask you to deny reality, or pretend that everything is alright when it isn’t, He invites you to ask Him into it.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, “Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear.” (TPT)
You don’t have to live a “perfect” life to please God. What pleases God the most is when you allow Him to work His grace and power into the middle of your very messy, very real life.
Whatever mess you are facing today, ask Jesus into it. Ask Him to empower you to face the reality of your life and walk confidently in His unique, personal, powerful expression of grace in the middle of it.
