Forgiveness

“Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.”

Matthew 6:12 MSG

Right with God, right with others.
Taking stock, taking responsibility.
Receiving grace, giving grace.
Living forgiven, living forgiving.
Everyday.
Jesus said to pray like this so that you could live like this.
Forgiveness sets you free to live the adventure that life brings you.
What do you need to ask forgiveness for today?
What do you need to forgive someone for today?

  1. This has been place on my heart and this road is pointing me in the right direction.
Question what drives in my life: I’m driven by resentment, anger and bitterness toward my family members after my loss of my sons and the chain is still broken. This is holding on to hurts and I still can’t get over it. Instead of releasing the pain through forgiveness, I rehearse it over and over in my mind. “Clam up or Bowing up” Both responses are unhealthy and unhelpful. The offender has probably forgotten the offense and gone on with life, but for me it still stew in pain, perpetuating the past. God’s indeed response to your prays…he tells me those who hurt you in the past cannot continued to hurt you now unless you hold on to the pain through resentment. Your past is past! Nothing will change it. You are only hurting yourself with your bitterness. For me learn from it, and then let it go. Being controlled by others is a guaranteed way to miss God’s purpose for my life. Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters.” “I have labored to no purposed; I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing.I simple ask, ” Does this activity help me fulfill one of God’s purposes for my life?” The Lord, gives perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in him. “I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” I want my life to have impact, I must stay focus!

    1. Amen. All of us struggle with this and it is a process of faith and obedience to process the emotions, acknowledge the pain and then take it all to Jesus. I’m praying for you as you journey this path to freedom!
